It's that point in your life when you're faced with decisions about your future after high school.
I'm graduating in June 2016 and I'm pretty loaded with the decisions that I have to make about which programs to go into. People have told me all sorts of things: "do what you want to do" "be realistic" "follow your passions, but make sure it makes money too." It's the pressure I'm getting from everyone, friends and family, that's been making it harder for me to come to a decision.

My passion lies in psychology and basically all social sciences. However, I've done tons of research and I've realized that graduating with a degree in that faculty will result in less job opportunities. Now, my plan is pretty simple - go to university, get my degree and find a good job at a good company. It sounds super easy, but it's not.
I'm in a tug of war between myself and my family.
My family members have all suggested that I go into business because it has more opportunities in the workplace. They gave me the taste of reality that getting a job with a bachelor of psychology is way harder.
I hate business. Like I seriously hate it to the core. I only like the idea of marketing because it requires an in depth analysis of the brain and the strategies required to appeal to consumers. So therefore, I'm thinking, "hey that's like psychology, but also combining it with business.

Right now, I'm not even sure what I should do. I'm not the smartest cup of tea: my math is pretty bad and don't even get me started on science. My skills are in English writing and social sciences (basically anything that asks you to write creatively and analyse things). I'm scared that I won't be able to reach the required admission averages because my math this semester just sucks. My parents are definitely going to freak out when they see my mid-term mark...
To the people who don't know what they want in life or don't know what to do after graduating from high school: you will all hit a point that you realize you've found your passions and you'll know how to pursue them. No, it doesn't mean you have to go to university/college. It just means that you're able to find ways to attain a career that you love. Obviously, you want to earn a good living, but to be honest, why not start from step 1? Find you passions. Figure out your options for the future. You don't have to do this all in one night. You need time to think about it, and although YOU are going somewhere, it's always good to talk to your family about it. Definitely would not want a lifetime of "omg our kid never confides in us when they make life decisions."
Good luck guys. The future is coming.
