When I received my Ryerson acceptance, I was ecstatic. I remember rereading the acceptance email three times before I realized that I finally achieved my goal. I wanted to wait till my aunt came home before telling my family the good news. And when I did, I ran into my aunt's room and yelled "I GOT INTO RYERSON!" They were so happy and gave me a hug, especially since they knew how badly I wanted to get into the program/university.
In all honesty, I had an ulterior motive to why I wanted an acceptance from Ryerson: I wanted to prove my mom wrong, that I was able to get into the program. I was more excited to break the news to her than telling my family, because all I've ever worked for is to see her shocked face. Unfortunately, that's not exactly what happened.
